- The players take turns laying one coins their side up onto any free square. Black goes first.
- If they make any lines of 3 or more coins, Black, White or both, starting from the coin that they laid, in any direction, they put their coin on any one of their opponent’s coins, if any; but this still counts as a capture. E.g. Black makes a line of 3, regardless of them being Black or White’, and chooses to put his coin on this White coin.
- Players may not top an already topped coin.
- After a capture they go again, but may not make a 3 or more line.
- If they cannot lay without doing so they miss their second go.
- Either way the next play lays next, and so on.
- The game ends when neither player can lay. The winner is the player with the most coins ‘on top’/on the board, who wins all of the pennies on the board.
